Welcome to Weight of Illusion: a support forum for people struggling with Eating Disorders
Weight of Illusion is an Eating Disorder forum where you can get support in a non-judgmental setting for various Eating Disorders from others dealing with similar issues including:
Anorexia Nervosa • Bulimia Nervosa • Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (ED-NOS) • Binge-Eating Disorder • Compulsive Overeating
Orthorexia Nervosa • Purging Disorder • Diabulimia • and other Eating Disorders
You do NOT have to go through your eating disorder alone!

There is a stereotype that Eating Disorders are associated with young white mid-to-upper class females. But here on Weight of Illusion you will find there is quite a diversity of members. We are a group of females and males struggling to live our day-to-day lives. We come from a variety of socioeconomic classes and ethnic backgrounds and represent over 40 countries. We range in age from 13 to our 50s. We are all struggling with various types of eating disorders and with that also means that our eating disorders come in ALL shapes and sizes. Some of us are struggling with an eating disorder and are underweight. Others are at a 'normal' weight. Many of us are currently or have been obese or morbidly obese. But no matter what our weight is and despite our diversity, we can all relate and understand each other in a way many people around us cannot because we are ALL struggling with an Eating Disorder.

We are a support forum, however we are NOT a 'pro-ana' site nor do we see Eating Disorders as a 'lifestyle' here or as a choice but as a serious mental illness and we do not allow exchanging "tips and tricks" for furthering your Eating Disorder. We are a group of people going through the same struggles trying to support and understand each other.

We currently offer over 100 boards for various types of support- ranging from boards for specific types of Eating Disorders plus many other sections and boards including a section of boards on Life With an Eating Disorder- with several boards for Men with Eating Disorders, several boards for Parents with Eating Disorders and to discuss Eating Disorders and pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility issues, a section of about 30 boards on Treatment & Therapy options as well as Eating Disorder Recovery, over 20 boards on Medical & Mental Health Issues, a section on Nutrition, Media Discussion section, a Relationships board, a GLBT board, places to share Art Work & Writing and keep a Journal, and plenty of other fun non-Eating Disorder related boards to get to know each other better and just talk- because everything doesn't have to center around our disease! You can find a complete list of our boards available to members by clicking here! Come join us if this is the type of community support you feel you need for your Eating Disorder!
